Dearest Reader,
It’s almost spring of 2022 & it seems I have been seeing & hearing the word “empowerment” a lot. The word empowerment means “the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights” 2021 was a hard year for me; including growing my faith & it seemed to have carried over to the new year. Although, as Henry Matisse once said, “there are flowers for those who want to see them” those words dawned on me…as well Romans 8:28. “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” Something good will come out of this dark season. The season of sorrow. I had to look for God. Then I realized that I am only responsible for me. From winter to spring this year, I also realized how important wellness is. The physical & mental health aspect of it.
Ready for the “Ah Ha” moment? From biblical perspective my faith was being tested, and sometimes I was so angry at the situation. Sometimes angry at God too. Then He gently told me, 2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Nonetheless no matter what the struggle, I am always producing fruit for the kingdom and His Glory.
Back to my word of the year. Empowerment. I am empowering others through my testimonies. I am being empowered through my faith. I am empowered through God’s Grace over my life & by His unfailing love. I am empowered this year with courage. I always dreamed of helping people and inspiring them the way that God has done for me. Encouragement means a lot to me too. I am recently going back to school to become a wellness coach. My dream is to be a light in the world and help others live their best godly life.
By the way. Living your best godly life doesn’t include a life of no struggles, or worries. My strategy to living the best life you can is by overcoming those things. I struggle with mental illness and I don’t believe it will just pack up and walk away from me LOL although sometimes I wish it would! Somedays are harder then others. Some days I have to tell myself Psalm 139:14 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well” while holding back tears in my eyes. Sometimes scripture is exactly what you need in a difficult time. There might even be a big blessing coming your way too.
My devotionals are mostly about wellness for mental health and physical health along with Christian testimonials of mine. I am so grateful that you are here with me friend as we journey through our faith talks with God. Please feel free to comment your word of the year and whatever else is on your heart!
I will be praying for you!
Joyfully In Christ,
-Nefertiti
