“I Need To Take A Break”
Say This For Empowerment: There are many cups of coffee that I could have and as many times I could wish for a superpower doesn’t mean I don’t need to take a break. Even machinery doesn’t run endlessly, it needs batteries or a power source. As Christians are to find our strength in God, we should understand the wisdom of this scripture: Isaiah 40:31 “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint”
Say This For Self Care: When you say I need to take a break; you acknowledge yourself and this is a part of respecting yourself. This is essential to loving and being kind to YOU and only God is a source of infinite resource. Psalm 45:11 reads “and the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow to him” The wisdom in this scripture is important because biblical beauty is a quiet and gentle spirit. No one woman and no matter how beautiful she is desires the look of stress. It’s unattractive and when does anyone really say “Wow, you look stressed.. it looks good on you”
Say This For Mental Health: The best work I could ever do for someone is the work that I would do for myself. If personally don’t value myself in a given circumstance I know my work won’t come out well. The saying goes, you cannot pour from an empty cup and you really can’t. God is the source of all that we need and saying I need to take a break to surrender to Him is the best thing any Christian could ever do. Psalm 55:22 reads “Cast your burden on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved” This wisdom in this scripture is easy: You don’t have to go through this alone!
DO THIS FOR YOU: Saying I need to take a break isn’t always easy. When relationships take a turn downhill, friendships are broken, work becomes draining and family can even seem like a burden; this is the time to self reflect. This is the time to think about anything– and a question to ask is What do I want? How many people will raise their hand to want to skip their 15 or 30 minute break at work and work the whole shift straight? No one truly wants this and this is not good work ethic. I need to take a break is a life skill and can reap so many benefits. Overcoming fear, peer pressure, society, judgment and insecurity can be achieve through the I need to take a break mentality. I need to take a break isn’t just a want- it’s a MUST HAVE!
PRAYER: Lord Jesus; Almighty God,
Thank you for all that you have done for me. I pray in the name of Jesus that You give whoever needs rest; in Your time and will; with a divine peace that surpasses all understanding. I pray for content for my friend, healing for their mind, soul and body and Your love to touch their hearts, that they may continue to see you as their God. I pray for rest, for them to slow down with all the urgency and for them to be still and listen for Your voice. You are where our help comes from. Alpha and Omega.
In the name of Jesus I pray,
Amen.
